Our in-house Graphics and Design Department works closely with development and marketing to ensure the creative design of our tools and websites. Thanks to our innovative approaches and simple designs, we make complex programs comprehensible and intuitive for anyone. Our graphic designers provide the “wow” effect for our products, flyers, logos, and websites. Their creativity is also reflected in our research projects.

Our young, creative, and innovative team of certified software developers creates user-friendly programs for over 18 million users worldwide. Our web designers work hand in hand with the design, development, and marketing teams during the conception phase of a project and ensure project feasibility.

From his childhood bedroom, company founder Dr. Sven Abels developed the first software hit under the Abelssoft brand—laying the foundation for the company it is today. Over many years, his personable nature shaped the company culture and established the basis for the trustful cooperation that still defines Ascora. Today, he remains closely connected to the company as a shareholder.

These values are carried forward by the leadership team consisting of Rafael Karbowski and Sandra Peters. Rafael has been part of Ascora since 2009 and was deliberately appointed as CEO in 2025—a clear signal of continuity and stability. Like founder Sven, he comes from an IT background and shares his numbers-driven, logical-analytical mindset. Both are united by an approach that always puts people at the center. Rafael continues the established mix of professional clarity, analytical thinking, and human warmth — further reinforcing the culture of trust that has always defined Ascora. Sandra supports him as authorized signatory and, together, they form a strong leadership duo. She has also been part of Ascora for many years, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous positions and strengthening the leadership team with her clear, practical approach.

Rafael and Sandra are both down-to-earth individuals who value closeness and team spirit — yet they can show clear leadership when needed. This authentic combination of collegial openness, a strong sense of responsibility and clear decision-making orms the foundation of a company culture built on humanity, passion, and professionalism. A fully equipped kitchen with free coffee and fruit and a bright lunchroom are popular places for private exchanges between colleagues. The building has a mosaic shower and a sauna, which can be used by employees for their own well-being. In addition, the idyllic outdoor area with two ponds, a meadow, and a forest provides fresh air at any time.

The environment is very important to us! That is why chives are planted on the roofs as natural heat insulation, the building is almost completely biodegradable, and we have our own water treatment system. We have a forest on our premises that is home to numerous insect and animal species, and where we can enjoy fresh air and shade under the trees. We also grow our own herbs, fruits, and vegetables.

Our company building is located close to nature in the idyllic village of Ganderkesee. This location has an atmosphere of being remote but is conveniently located between Oldenburg and Bremen. Employees and visitors can travel by train, bicycle, bus, or car. Directly in front of the building there is a bus stop as well as our own parking lot, which is also used by our carpools. The train station is only a few minutes’ walk away.
