vf-OS is a manufacturing-oriented cloud platform designed to support a versatile market ecosystem that provides a range of services for the networked factory of the future and enables manufacturing companies to develop and integrate better and more intelligent manufacturing and logistics processes. The central aim of the vf-OS research project, located in the Industry 4.0 area, is to develop a system for companies that is flexible, expandable, and customizable. With the help of vf-OS, industrial companies are able to analyze and optimize processes with interacting libraries and take precautions at an early stage to avoid failures and delays.
