The aim of the project is to create an open, marketable product information system for consumers. Consumers should be provided with comprehensive and convenient product information. The project is intended to create a food guard that can detect unhealthy ingredients, such as fat and sugar, at first glance. A mobile app is to be used for this purpose so that consumers can simply scan in a product by barcode and be informed immediately. In addition, the app is to suggest healthier alternatives that deliberately cater to a similar taste as the calorie-rich option. To start with, more than 4,000 products will be recorded and processed as part of the research project.
