ALFRED’s goal is to develop a mobile, personalized assistant for senior citizens that will enable them to stay independent for longer and to better communicate with caregivers. ALFRED is specifically dedicated to seniors and is fully focused on and adapted to their needs. The virtual butler ALFRED is intended to be highly accepted by the end user through the use of a fully voice controlled and non-technical environment. Data is collected by unobtrusive, portable sensors that monitor the vital signs of elderly people. The elderly are protected by direct access to vital parameters for nursing staff and medical personnel as well as by emergency alarms.
